RHYTHM

An element related to the organization of the duration of sound; linked in antiquity to poetic rhythm, thus resulting in the different durations of syllables, today it is recognised more so for its essentially psychological nature. It is at the heart of the organization of sounds and how these play a fundamental role in intercultural communication. It is precisely by articulating choreutic gestures moulded and shared around a common rhythm that the relationships between different cultures are defined in the simplest and most immediate manner; despite having possible difficulties with verbal communication they find fertile ground for dialogue in the rhythmic one. We must not limit the effects of rhythmic communication to percussive conditions, which are already very effective in themselves, but we can easily navigate the pitch level of sounds ordered in time by certain rhythmic scans.
